Collecting

We all collect, some of us collect more than others. There are limits, for example the space need to display a collection can limit ones collection. I collect small things, and yet I still don't have room. We both collect books and cat stuff- (we have 4 cats) and Phil collects games and toys & dice. I collect tea cups and british stuff.

A word or two about collecting books

Why are you collecting ? to resell? - for an investment? to fill a shelf or two? Because you love to read and you are building a library.

Books hold their value if they are stored properly and the fair market value is constant for that title. If they become "popular" for some reason, their value may raise, if they become obsolete because of thier content, they will be worth less and less with time. If they become damaged, they will lose value. All books are valued by several factors, these are just a few

  • Condition
  • collectability of author
  • rarity

New books are easy - amazon, your local independant book seller or a mall books store etc.
